We were involved in the remodeling of this office building located along Dojima River in Osaka. Our goal was to create a vibrant work environment for employees that also allows them to enjoy the comforting sight of the river.

A willow tree was planted as a symbolic tree in the plaza in front of the entrance to the building. Our idea was for the tree's fluttering leaves to visually capture the breeze blowing from the river. Our louver-based design for the facade was inspired by the splendor of Dojima River and the crests and troughs of its waves. The delicate wave-like structures are intended to create a sense of harmony between the building and its surroundings while hopefully becoming a new symbol of the city.

For the lobby's atrium, we ensured a smooth transition between the inside and outside by creating a wave-like design that echoes that of the facade. The central pillar features a piece of visual art produced by Takahiro Matsuo (LUCENT inc.) that gives form to external environmental conditions such as temperature and wind intensity. The pleasant breeze blowing from the riverside can be felt indoors as well. Each floor is decorated with photographic art of the surrounding scenery by Daisaku Oozu, an Osaka native, and the original illustrations of Hiroshi Tanabe.

In addition to serving as the common area of the office building, we hope that this area can also contribute to the revitalization of local communities by enhancing the beauty of the riverside and becoming a place that local residents can make use of.
